Da Gist

Da Gist

Da Gist is a unique pilot TV series made for young people by young people, developed through a project partnership between The Digital Hub and Bradóg Regional Youth Services, based in Dublin’s north inner city. Da Gist pilot was a series of four half-hour magazine programmes made by and aimed at 14 - 21 year olds, showcasing their lifestyle, culture, creativity, thoughts and opinions.

Prior to production, the first phase of the project engaged the group of would-be young TV producers in training in TV Production at The Digital Hub. The group from Inner City Dublin, gained the foundation skills necessary to go on and produce the series with the supervision and support of a professional team, led by producers/directors Paul Dunne and Sharon Tobin.

Highlights include Eamon Ryan, Minister for Communications, Energy and Natural Resources, being tracked down by Da Gist teenage reporter Sean, who quizzes the minister on wearing cycling helmets and the meanings of sms text message abbreviations and acronyms!
